He said, “Nothing! However; Let me tell you that I lost: Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Insecurity, Fear of death & Old Age”

So, that is, in a nutshell, about Meditation!

It brings a heightened state of focused attention. The goal is not to control your thoughts, it is to stop letting them control you.

And it has nothing to do with Buddhism or any other religion. Almost every religion has meditative practices in being. There are techniques too many; it is just that what suits you the most to get that mindful inner peace & calm. I, for sure, will recommend Meditation as a part of everyone’s daily routine. It is the trust in yourself that only you can bring solutions to your problems. It doesn’t connect you with the Supreme power, it connects you with your soul. It is self-actualization and self-realization: Who are you? What is your purpose in life? What are you looking for? It is living in the present moment as you can’t change your past and can’t predict your future, at the same time.

Certain recommended basics to start Meditation are as follows:-

  • Choose a quite place; outside and early mornings are better. Nothing can be better than starting your day with meditation.
  • Do it for minimum 10 minutes; try to feel your environment- sound of chirping of birds, gentle breeze or can use a soothing music initially.
  • Be comfortable; though sitting asanas and postures are best but you can do in other postures too if having some problem
  • Notice your thoughts & focus on your breathing.
  • Don’t try to suppress your feelings. Just change the channel of your thought.
  • Feel happy ang joyful like a kid; gentle smile on your face will help you to feel the same.
  • This should be the best time of your day.

You shouldn’t expect that doing it will relieve you with all your problem. It has to be done without expectation. Instead, treat it as a part of self-care to make you feel better with every day’s practice.

Before I end this writeup, let me share with you a small story.

‘Here was a small village where villagers were scarced of water. Everyone decided to pray. On the day of prayer, all the people gathered, but there was only one little girl, who came with an umbrella.’ That is faith ,so, if you have the  faith  in yourself, try it, Meditate and live as if you never lived rightly.
